CoolCell Alcohol-Free Cell Freezing Containers
CoolCell alcohol-free cell freezing containers ensure standardized controlled-rate -1℃/minute cell freezing in a -80℃ freezer - without alcohol or any fluids. Proven for use with a variety of cell types including stem cells, primary cells and cell lines.
The patent-pending CoolCell technology utilizes a thermo-conductive alloy and highly-insulative outer materials to control the rate of heat removal and make cell cryopreservation reproducible.
CoolCell units are easy to use; simply fill with cryogenic vials and place in a -80℃ freezer. For 1 mL - 5 mL cryogenic vials, and injectable serum vials for cell therapy applications.
CoolBox Ice-Free Cooling Systems
CoolBox ice-free bench top systems provide sample cooling or freezing without ice, electricity or batteries. The reusable internal cooling or freezing cartridges provide hours of 0.5 to 4.0℃ cooling or -20 to 0℃ freezing. CoolBox systems may also be used with dry ice to create a compact portable, snap-freezing workstation for bacteria, virus and proteins.
CoolBox systems accommodate a variety of thermo-conductive CoolRack® and CoolSink® sample modules for microfuge tubes, cryogenic vials, PCR tubes and plates, assay plates and more.
CoolRack Tube Modules
PROBLEM - Current method of cooling samples in ice. The random layout can result in misidentification, errors in processing and temperature variability.
SOLUTION - CoolRack tube modules provide consistent temperature to all samples (+/- 0.1°C), stability and organization - making ice bucket cooling error-free and reproducible.
CoolSink Plate Modules
CoolSink plate modules provide a solid, sturdy interface between laboratory sample plates and temperature sources such as ice (left). The thermo-conductive alloy evenly distributes the temperature to all wells, ensuring no "edge effect."
The data on the right shows shows the temperature distribution of a 96-well flat-bottom plate placed directly on ice (A), and placed on a CoolSink 96F on ice (B). The plate on the CoolSink 96F is more uniform and all wells are below 4℃.
Automation Friendly Sample Modules
Automation-friendly CoolRack® and CoolSink® thermo-conductive sample modules provide an easy way to keep your samples cold while processing them on your robotic instrument.
The thermo-conductive alloy material will adapt to ice or any other temperature source and keep samples uniformly cold while waiting to be processed, then can be placed directly onto the deck of most SBS-compliant liquid handling stations to keep samples cold while processing. Samples will stay <10℃ for approximately up to 30 minutes when the module is removed from the temperature source.
To keep samples cold without ice, place the CoolRack and CoolSink modules in an ice-free CoolBox XT workstation and the samples will stay cold up to 16 hours. CoolBox XT does not require ice, batteries or electricity. Ideal for keeping samples cold while waiting for processing on your liquid handling machine.
ThermalTray thermo-conductive platforms support CoolRack and CoolSink sample modules in liquid temperature sources - such as melting ice, water baths and liquid nitrogen.
Made of a highly conductive alloy, ThermalTray conducts the source temperature to the CoolRack or CoolSink, and ultimately to your sample. The stable, sturdy design makes them ideal for processing temperature-sensitive samples.
TruCool Ice Buckets and Pans
Made of ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foam, these multi-purpose pans and buckets are a great non-toxic alternative to conventional ice pans. EVA has little or no odor, is inert and used in biomedical engineering applications such as drug delivery devices.
The multi-purpose containers are highly insulative, stackable, unbreakable, lightweight and leak-proof. Containers will not "sweat" or deform and have a textured finish on the bottom to prevent slipping on the benchtop. Ideal for use with ice, dry ice (-78℃), liquid nitrogen (-196℃), alcohol or saline solutions, or warm solutions.
Available in five sizes and seven vibrant colors. Sizes include: Maxi 9L rectangular, Midi 4L rectangular, Mini 1L square, 4L round with lid and 2.5L round with lid. Colors include: purple, lime green, orange, pink, blue, red, dark green.
